Name Description
Basilisk II Basilisk II is a free, portable 68k Mac emulator. It requires a copy of a 512K or 1MB Mac ROM and a copy of MacOS 7.x or 8.x to run. Basilisk II is freeware and distributed under the GNU General Public License.
Basilisk II/JIT Basilisk II/JIT is a dynamic recompilation of the original emulator.
Executor Executor is a commercial emulator that allows non-Macintosh hardware to run many applications originally written on a Macintosh.
Mini vMac This is a Macintosh Plus emulator which has an impressively small footprint on the host system. It has now superseded its predecessor, vMac.

It requires a Macintosh Plus BIOS ROM to run, which is not included for copyright reasons.
MOL Mac On Linux lets you run MacOS under Linux/ppc. MOL runs natively on the processor, i.e. it is very fast. Unlike most mac emulators, MOL can run MacOS 8.6 and later without a ROM image.
SheepShaver SheepShaver is a PowerPC emulator written by Christian Bauer. It can be run in native mode (for PowerPC host computers) and in emulation mode.
