WinNES v0.0.6 Source Code Released

delphiseeker sent me the following news:
Hi, The author of WinNES gave me the source code a long time ago and I am now releasing it as he gave it to me. It is for version 0.0.6 beta (the last public release). Please host the zip file on your domain, zophar.net, as I do not know how permanent the earthlink account will be. WinNES is programmed in Delphi 3.02b and makes use of DirectX (some out-dated version I think). As the name implies, WinNES is an NES emulator for windows. The WinNES project was started because of the lack of a freely distributable NES emulator on the net with a friendly GUI (Graphical User Interface) that runs in a window with other apps. One interesting feature of WinNES is that it emulates sound with MIDI (not just sound effects as the description on the Zophar NES Emulator page says) but, unfortunately, it does so rather poorly. The author is not working on the project; he doesn't have time (and hasn't for the last several years). Anyone is free to work on the project, but whoever is using the source code: please make sure to give credit to the original programmer, Dott. Cosimo de Michele. (Dott. stands for the Italian word for Doctor.) The author is busy, and I am not sure how well he will be able to answer questions about the code he wrote five years ago. However, if you make good improvements on his program, I'm sure he would like to know. His webpage is linked to on Zophar's NES emulator page, and his e-mail address can be found from there. delphiseeker
