SNESAmp 2.5

posted in Utility Release by groat on Oct 8th, 2001

A new version of SNESAmp (and SNESAPU.DLL) have been released. New to this release: SNESAmp2.5
  • Rewrote the entire ID666 editor, and pieces of the other code, after a Win2k install went bad
  • Added support for the additional time fields in the XID6 tag
  • Playback switches to fadeout if timer is enabled after song would've ended
  • Fixed the way samples were sent to Winamp, so DSP plug-ins and EQ work again
  • Decible value on threshold control was incorrect
  • Fixed FIR filter detection in the ID666 editor
  • Noise clock speed is displayed correctly
  • Fixed the multiple instances bug when opening SPC's from Explorer
  • Control dialog will stay visible if Winamp is left of the primary monitor
  • SNESAPU.DLL can be installed in the Plugins folder, if the System folder isn't available
  • SNESAPU was accidentally getting linked twice SNESAPU.DLL v0.96 (part of SNESAmp)
  • Added 4-point Gaussian interpolation
  • Made fast seeking faster, and normal seeking slower and more accurate (now you can tell a difference between the two)
  • Improved the method of reversing stereo channels
  • Made more internal optimizations and changes
  • Pushed some data through the SNES and rewrote the ADPCM routine (sample decompression is virtually perfect, except for Hiouden)
  • Forgot to disable pitch modulation after a PMON flag was cleared (Asterix plays in tune)
  • Fixed seeking routine that was incorrectly decompressing some sample blocks (Plok! seeks correctly)
  • Echo delay was incorrect for most sample rates
  • Echo was incorrectly mixed on non-MMX processors
  • Did something to fix white noise generation not working in some songs
  • Corrected internal DSP clock algorithm (envelopes and white noise generation work like they're supposed to)
  • Changed low-pass filter to more of a SNES hardware simulator Get it from the Winamp Page. Thanks to Ungamer for the news.
