PCSX2 Plugin releases

posted in Utility Release by spacetiger on Jul 30th, 2003

The people working on the upcoming version of PCSX2 have released a whole bunch of plugins for the emulator. Unfortunately, these plugins will not work correctly with old versions of PCSX2, so you'll have to wait until version 0.4 is realeased before they will be of use. They are all open source, though, so they can still be used for development purposes.

GS

The graphics plugin that was released is called GsSoft and it is up to version 0.5. This plugin works for both Win32 and Linux versions of PCSX2. Here's what's new:
  • Added Color.c/Texts.c
  • Most _Z primitives are implemented
  • Fixed lots of bugs
  • Implemented Alpha Blending
  • Implemented Color Clamping
  • New PS2Edefs v0.4.0
  • Added a hack

CD/DVD

There is also a CD/DVD plugin called CDVDiso that was released. Version 0.2 has the following changes:
  • Added support for isos using 2048 blocksize
  • Nero images are supported
  • Better extension filtering
  • Updated specs to v0.4.0
  • Now on windows you don't need libbz2.dll
Two other CD/DVD plugins, called CD/DVD and CD/DVDnull, were released for Linux and Win32, respectively. They were simply upgraded to the specifications for PCSX2 v0.4.

SPU

One sound plugin was released, SPU2null v0.2, and it is usable on both Win32 and Linux. It has been made compatible with the upcoming emulator version.

PAD

Finally, there were two gamepad plugins, PADwinKeyb v0.4 and PADxwinKeyb v0.3 (for Win32 and Linux, respectively), made available today. These are upgraded for the new version and they fix a key repeating problem with the previous versions.
