olafnes v1.0a

posted in Emulator Release by spacetiger on Oct 14th, 2004

An interesting development in the NES emulation world. It seems that olaf picked up the last source release of basicnes 2000 and expanded on it, calling the new emulator "olafnes". The eventual goal of the project is to give the emulator much better mapper support and even add some new features. He seems to have made good progress in that direction. Here are the changes from the last release of basicnes 2000:
  • Menu/interface organization/renaming
  • 2-player support with joypad enabling & disabling
  • Netplay via ip-to-ip
  • Support for 37 partial and complete mappers (0-11, 13, 15-19, 21-24, 32-34, 40, 64-66, 68, 69, 71, 78, 90, 91, 118, 160)
  • Palette generation and inverting
  • Display stretching with proportional maximization
  • State auto saver
  • Sound channel enabling & disabling
  • Real-time mirroring alteration options
We have this and many other such emulators in the NES Emulators section.
