Some news on the frontend scene, it seems that MAME Classic, a Windows frontend for MAME, has been given a major update to version 3.0.0. Among other things, it now has internal support for MAMEDiff, the tool from Logiqx that tells you the differences between MAME versions. Here's the full list:
  • Added some error handling to prevent a crash on some Windows 9X PCs upon start up
  • Added the ability to check for MAME Classic updates
  • Changed the way the What's Changed (ROMs Info) option works
  • Changed the way the What's Changed (All Info) option works
  • Fixed a bug with the FlipX and FlipY options
  • MAME Classic now supports MAMEDiff!
  • Renamed the executable to MClassic.exe
