02/24/02 MacOS Atari 800 is a Mac port of David Firth's multi platform Atari 800 Emulator. It emulates any 6502-based Atari computer, plus the Atari 5200 game console.
Jum52 v0.8.5 06/19/04 MacOS X 10.2+ Jum52 supports reasonable compatibility with Atari 5200 titles. At the present collision detection is a bit hit and miss (no pun intended) but otherwise the emulator is solid enough. Full sound emulation is included.

Rainbow is the best of the Atari 800/5200 emulators, except for the color palettes. The demo emulates an Atari 800 very well; the sound, vertical fine scrolling, and full 800XL/130X emulation are turned off in the demo. Worth a download if you don't mind missing bleeps.

This version of Rainbow is from Richard Bannister, and gives an improved GUI and better sound than the original. A Quartz Extreme compatible AGP video card is required for best performance.

Wacke 1.6.0 (Shareware) 09/25/99 MacOS Wacke is another Atari 800 emulator. It does not support Atari 5200 mode, however, and the demo only allows for small video. It has full sound emulation and it uses a much better palette than Rainbow does. This emulator has also been updated more recently than Rainbow.
