PSP or NDS?

Wow, what a great idea. As though having a bum-fuck tiny screen wasn't enough, now I can have a bum-fuck tiny screen 4 feet away from me. That will make playing games so much easier!

It'd be more useful if you could use it with the GameBoy Player. But then people would start wondering what would happen if you used the considerably more powerful GameCube sitting on top of it instead.

I own both.
I have had the DS since xmas, and the PSP since yesterday.
I'll put it to you this way:
DS = great idea, with so so games, and few releases
PSP = good idea, with good starting titles, a nice selection of movies, and has a lot of power behind it.

Well, why couldn't you? The GBP has the same ext connections the GBA has.

You are a very lucky man to have that kind of disposable income. Very lucky.

Doesn't feel like there'd be much point though. The GameCube pad has loads of buttons, couldn't you make it use some of those?

Well sure, if you have a means to run homebrew code on the 'Cube, you could do that but that isn't exactly portable (my Action Replay Max for the Gamecube is still in the mail). Not saying SNESadvance is perfect, but it really IS pretty impressive for what it is. I actually played a good chunk of Soul Blazer on it, as a test and it worked very well.

But yeah, really, if you're at home you might as well use the GameCube, or a Dreamcast even if you don't want to use your PC.

well, not really. the DS was a gift, for both me and my brother. the PSP was purchased by my brother and I paid $50 to be able to use it when I want, assuming he is not using it. But he owed me $50, anyway, from months ago, so it was like it was free.

Regardlesss, when PSPs drop down to like 40 bucks I'll buy one.

*runs away before someone trys to shoot him*

But really, someday if they are less cheap I might buy one to supplement my DS.

This is the game out of all DS games currently announced (that I'm aware of anyway) that I am the most pumped for. If GBA's Aria of Sorrow was SotN's spiritual successor, then this is it's real true succesor....in spirt and body..er something like that. :p

I've seen some nice video of it...it looks and sounds amazing. Even better than SotN I think. And it can only get better since that was months ago.

Yeah, it was one of the deciding factors for me as well to get a DS. That and the updated remake of the real Final Fantasy 3. With the rumors of PDA software on the horizon in addition to that, it was a done deal for me.

Not to say I won't end up with a PSP, but I have to see more before I can make a good decision on it. I will NEVER buy movies for the thing when I can get a DVD that's at least double the resolution for the same price. And I don't really have need of a portable MP3 player since I listen to music in the car, at home, and at work primarily and have all those bases covered. So basically it comes down to the games it has to offer for me and that's it.
