I can get it to work on Sonic's NES. However, it is impossible in SMBDX.
I have heard that in the Famicom version, you can go to level -2 instead of scrolling level -1's and eventually you will be able to do the "B button to select new world" thing.

As far as I know all versions of SMB1 were released in all regions, meaning there is no specific Famicom version (It's obviously on a Famicart but the game is the same)

OK, from my ROM collection I count 2 (PRG0 and PRG1) so I was wrong.

Edit: Well ok, 4 if you count the "combo" carts.
