Gonna have to ask, first off, does anyone actually use any of the "Net nanny" software anymore? secondly, settings in firefox to transparently use a proxy are easier to configure and show far less evidence than anything else. thirdly, why does your mom care if you talk to a bunch of old fogies that just love classic gaming systems, tech heads, and pirates. We are hardly unsavory, aside from our rather dry humor at times.

Why you havent just "haxored" your computer so the history doesn't last past 1 day, your sites are deleted after you close the window, and you disable the netnanny software is past me.
Hell, when i was your age (ugh... i feel really old now) the school hired my APCS class as junior ITs. We got no pay, but got access to the ghost image...and passwords. seriously.

...[snicker] heh heh heh.

i'm sorry, i found that funny. it took me a grand total of 3 megatokyo comics to pick up leet in its entirety. and aolblock can be circumvented BY USING A BROWSER THAT DOESN'T SUCK. just install firefox. sheesh. problem solved. also profiling helps.

She doesn't know how to use her dial-up without using AOL Browser.

I haven't used AOL since 28.8 Kbps was fast. I know practically nothing about AOL except that it sucks.

I don't use AOL either but these things are common sense.

There should be a way to connect to AOL through the magical AOL icon but not load their bullshit browser, but if there isn't, it's as simple as closing their browser as soon as it loads and using Firefox instead.

Doesn't AOL disconnect when you close the browser? I know it used to several years ago when I watched someone use it.

Hm.. couldn't someone just set up the connection manually using the access number, the name and password? Unless the browser passes some secret authorization code to connect, I don't see why that wouldn't work.

That would (probably) work but I honestly don't know if they could handle doing that, they seem pretty clueless.
