Here's a suggestion

Well if you use CSS I wouldn't make the code cross combatable since some code I found using Firefox that some code for resizing images works in IE but not Firefox where the image didn't appear at all. When you use the Firefox compatable code in CSS it works fine with Firefox but not at all in IE.

What the site I found recommends was separate codes for each browser and that way the coding is simpler and standard for each's coding preference. I imagine most alternate browsers like Opera and Linux Browsers would also work fine with the Firefox version of the code also.

I do like the flexibility of CSS, it's a good choice for the layout itself. There is also tons of available code out there easily found with Google search if needed. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>
