My brake pad was on its way out, it and it started to munch on my rotor on friday, so I didnt drive this weekend at all, but I been broke ever since my work equipment was jacked, but just got back in the field 2 weeks ago, so pay day is friday. I had to wait it out even though I knew I should replace it immediatetly.

So tonight, my friend and I went to go get a quick bite to eat, as I was leaving the parking lot, I heard something metal hit the concrete and my brake pedal went to the floor. I froze for a second because I knew exactly what it was, put it in park, and went out outside, and yep, it was a brake pad.

I parked for about 5 minutes, trying to think of the safest route to anywhere I can park the car so I can get it fixed. I drove it back to my friends house, albeit 15MPH and alot of ebraking so i can get it fixed tomarrow, only problem is Im flat broke until Friday.

Being broke is no joke

That sucks. I've had my brakes completely go out, brake pedal to the foor, no stoppage. That really sucked. I went 2 weeks with just an ebrake. So I feel ya.

You people are INSANE. Driving with an emergency brake? Holy hell that sounds not fun at all.

You think that's bad? I broke a brake line on my truck a while ago. That sucked hard. In the process of having to fix the brake line I had to drop the fuel tank, which broke the horribly rusted fuel return line. So basically, it cost me close to 250 bucks to fix a 10 dollar brake line. D'oh!

See, this is why they have yearly vehicle safety inspections up here, so things like that don't happen very often.

I had to do it once for probably the last reason anyone should have to: to conserve the power that the brake lights were using because my battery was dying because a fuse was bad and the assholes that put in the alternator I had gotten didn't notice. I barely made it to the shop and the car died getting into the parking spot...talk about close call!

They used to around here. But they still wouldn't apply to my truck, as it is older than 10 years. *shrugs* stupid fucking michigan laws.
