there's 2 polar opposites in this town. the diehard judging mormons and the counter-culture that hates them.

then there's everyone else. if you live here long enough, you'll find a way into that middle. if you've lived here your whole life and still harbor these resentments, perhaps you should move.

reasons i like utah:

badass nature!

mormons (at least in religious theory) do not actively promote mainstream american culture. i don't like it either so it's a nice waystation for me to a better culture like canada or japan. (although i will admit i'm actively searching a new home as this past decade in Provo/Orem has seen a huge surge in blinginism).

if they follow their foretold plan of moving to missouri to live a form of socialism, i'm down. ironically, the richest of these saints (which are many) will likely not make it there because of their own penchant for riches above their god worship.
