I've been seriously considering getting an external RAID-1 enclosure for dual 1 TB drives, but had a question.
I would like to go a little easier on my wallet, and get the enclosure plus one terrabyte drive to start. I was hoping to be able to add a second hard disk at a later date, and then turn the system into a RAID-1. Is this possible?
Also, if I *can* use one drive at first, will I need to do any reformatting once I add the second drive? RAID- 1 seems to be the best way to effortlessly back-up my huge DVD rip collection, so I'd like to get this set up as soon as possible.
