I know this question is asked all the time here, but again; which PS2 to USB connector should I get? The Radio Shack one? One of these?

Any help would be wonderful. If one of the ebay ones, would you mind linking me to the auction?

Thanks guys.

I got this one and it works fantastic -> http://cgi.ebay.com/Playstation-USB-to-PC-Adapter-PS2-PSX-PS1-DDR-Converter_W0QQitemZ330032923559QQihZ014QQcategoryZ41059QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I also have one of these in the 4 controller port version and it also rocks.

How long is the cable on that? It's not horribly expensive, so I'll probably nab one!

The USB cable on mine is about 10 inches on the 2 port and 8 inches on the 4 port (could be the same I can't remember). It works best if you use a USB hub or extension cable. However, since the PSX/PS2 controllers have long cords it won't be needed me thinks...I don't need any extension myself.

Excellent. My USB ports are in the back of my PC, making it a bitch to get to -- but you're right. I shouldn't have an issue.

I ended up purchasing this, which is the new version of the one you linked to. It was only a few bucks more, and the seller is in the US, so that's a plus. I'll post a small review of it once I get it and give it a whirl on ePSXe.

Thanks for all your help, bro!

Oh, the new version has pressure sensitivity...that might be interesting. Let me know how it works with fighting games with Final Burn Alpha, ZSNES, and ePSXe if you wouldn't mind please. I might buy one of these if the response rate is as good as the regular one.

No problemo.

I have the Radio Shack one, and it works perfectly. I have zero complaints.

I have one as well, it's worked fine for me. I'm even using it with a pretty decent PSX Arcade stick to play MAME games.

I have a question. I have several psx->usb convertors. Most of them work 100% with original sony controllers, 50/50
with 3rd party controllers and...0% with arcade sticks (Capcom 15th. Pelican [which I heard it was ass anyway] and others)

The funny thing is that I have one for dreamcast that shares the same problems...EXCEPT...it has a 9v jack for a power
brick. I used one with 400ma negative tip and viola....ALL STICKS/CONTROLLERS WORK!!!! but on the Dreamcast.

Reading docs, I find out that this is due to a lack of the "8 volt line" to the sticks. My question: How can I supply this voltage
to the sticks while using the PSX->USB adapters?

The arcade stick I'm using just works.

I've had the Radio Shack one for a while now, and it works great. Never a problem, neither on my PC or on my Apple. :)
