New car post #968

I bought a '98 BMW 328is coupe a few weeks ago. This is the first non-Japanese car I've owned, and all it took was a test drive at the dealer to sell me on German engineering. Compared to my Eclipse, it's build quality and (stock) ride are phenomenal. Mine's outfitted with every available option and the sport package (sport bucket seats, tighter suspension, short throw shifter, etc.). Even the quality of the leather is much, much better than what Mitsubishi puts in the top model Eclipses. The previous owner installed a performance ECU chip and LSD (limited slip diff). This car comes with the BMW VANOS engine, a 2.8 liter dual overhead cam inline-6, a kickass block with hi-rev potential. I have yet to do any engine mods or a dyno test, but I'd estimate the stock 190hp has been boosted to around 230. For anyone looking for tight, reliable sport/ luxury, I'd highly recommend one of these.

Everyone knows that German engineered cars are the best in the world! <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

Some history:
Mercedes Benz made the first car ever, Germans invented the freeway (autobahn). VW, Audi, Porsche all share parts with each other. BMW used to make airplane motors.
