For those of you who don't know, Metroid Arena is just a mini-hack used to test SMILE and ASM coding. The project is fairly large (especially Ceres) and getting larger, but the time is coming to move onto the "real" project.
I've got an idea (don't we all) for a very in depth Super Metroid hack. There's going to be a lot of ASM coding to be done (I'll be doing the bulk of this). Graphics and level data are the main things I'll need help with . . . Enemies are going to be completely redrawn.
What I'm thinking:
-ASM core of changes available to anyone working on the project
-each person would be assigned a specific area to hack
-each person would be assigned certain banks/groups of enemies to be responsible for changing properties of
-someone would be responsible for enemy graphics, which will be redone almost completely (the hack is not on Zebes)
-after SMILE makes it possible to edit the graphics in TLP, someone will get those graphics too
-(if anyone wants to be responsible for the graphics for their specific area/enemies, that would be great)
There would, of course, be certain "rules" with how areas are put together, to allow the ASM to be best integrated throughout the game. Sorry I can't get into the details of the hack here, but I will be glad to give more info to anyone who is seriously interested in helping . . . This is going to be a very unique metroid game. If you don't like change, don't bother<img src=smilies/puke.gif>
*If interested in helping, either post here or PM me.*
BTW- Any of you who downloaded my gravity patch would have noticed that it is flawed (seemingly seriously, but an easy fix). It has been fixed and will be updated soon.
Latest from Arena... *Not* in the hack mentioned above.
