Lakers just got PWNED

t00t

I'm pretty thrilled myself. I'm not a Pistons fan, but I couldn't stand the cockiness of the Los Angeles lakers or the overwhelming bias of the media towards them. People were saying that Detroit would be lucky to win just one game, and that nothing could stop Kobe and Shaq.

I'm ecstatic that this underestimated team not just beat the lakers, but totally beat the piss out of them.

Yeah, in an interview on national television before game 1 of the finals, Shaq said he "wants to win seven championships for himself" and that "his career will not be complete without seven championships." I've been a Pistons fan since 1995 (I was a little too young to remember the Bad Boys of '89 and '90), and I'm so glad that they beat the crap out of those selfish bastards in five straight games (they didn't win game 2, but we all know they should have).

Shaq acts like he's gonna be in the finals every year... he should be happy he has as many rings as he does... there are great players who never even get to win... or get a chance to win... and his career won't be complete without seven?! I seriously hope that he never EVER wins another championship... that'll teach him a lesson.

PISTONS ARE #1!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's not what's being discussed. My state's team, the Utah Jazz, of which Malone was a long time member, has never won a championship, even though they've been within a hair's breadth multiple times.

I blame Malone for being an idiot and not staying in Utah. I lost what little respect I had for him when he left Utah. Don't feel bad, Utah will be back.

Yeah. Kirilenko and Giricec are very promising prospects. Arroyo ain't half bad either, just needs a little more experience.

As for them being within a hair's breadth and not making it, you can blame Michael Jordan.

money aside, it does suck that he's played for so long and never won a championship, but guys who sit on the bench of winning teams all season have won several.

Also, LobsterCowboy is right about Patrick Ewing. He definitely deserved one.

Yeah, I do feel kind of bad for Karl Malone... but what about his long-time teammate when he played for Utah, John Stockton? He really deserved one, a team player all the way.

Totally. There are actually car dealerships down here called "Stockton to Malone", like "Stockton to Malone Volkswagen" and whatnot.

More than that, they were a bitchin' duo in NBA Jam.
