Improving TV Antenna signals

My friend has not really had any television in his apartment for months, so adventually, when I was at the 99 cent store, I picked up a TV "Rabbit ears" Antenna and one of those things that connects it to a coaxial cable input.

So I hooked it up and I got a couple of channels, I got channel 5, 7, and 4 in decent, but the higher VHF channels like 11, and 13 came in like crap. The city I live in is about 65mi from Los Angeles so most TV stations have a signal reach of 80-85mi, so the channels do come in per se, but not well enough.

Does anyone know how to improve TV signals? (that was a long write up).

You can feed it through a couple of things, like a VCR to boost the signal. It could be that you just need a stronger antenna too. You could buy another one and feed both through a splitter, then to the TV.

There is such a thing as a signal amplifier as well...we had one we used to use that we got from RadioShack. Seemed to help the picture quite a bit.

Then there are those weird mega-antennas that have a coax connector on one end and a normal wall outlet plug on the other. Supposedly turns your house's wiring system into an antenna, and I can verify that they work well.

Am I the only one that sometimes hangs wire hangers on the rabbit ears? =P

That or some stripped coax strung in the proper angel can do wonders at the right location.

Wanted for questioning?

? What do you mean, are you watching that on your PC or TV that has a good antenna, is that what the picture is in reference to. You were kind of vague with that reply.
