I need a new monitor.

Okay, so about ten minutes ago I was looking through some internet forums, when BAM, my GOOD monitor suddenly screws up. Instead of the Windows screen filling the whole screen, it's now reduced to a small fraction of what it should be at the top 1/4 of the screen.

The whole friggin picture just leapt up to the top part so I can't see anything but the bottom 1/4 of whatever's on the screen at the time, everything else is black. Now I have to use a crappy, smaller, and much older monitor that has no birghtness control.

So, can anyone tell me how to fix the other monitor or at least where I can get a cheap good one? I'd preffer a 17" - 20" flat screen CRT, LCDs are too expensive and not really worth the money at the time.

If you lived in a mini-tech community like mine, i'd say just go to the local thrift store. there are plenty of 17" monitors for under 20 bucks donated by the businesses and university.

individual locales may vary.
