why do people have to NOT sign in and just look around??? It annoys the piss out of me because when I see "Who's Online: 22" and when I click on the Who's online thingie and there is only around eightish or so users. I'm sorry, I have to bitch about this because it is driving me UP THE FRICKIN WALL! If I see only eightish users out of 22 people using the website, I am going to have a bitchfit

I would assume most people would rather preview a website before they commit to signing up for it. I am 'signed up' to like five web pages on the net. if I signed up for every site like you're implying, I'd be signed up to like 600 websites. who wants to do that?

1. Most of those are search engine bots, not real people. Especially the ones that do impossible stuff for an anonymous user like "Modifying a post," "Deleting a private message," etc.

2. http://www.elazulspad.net/ubbthreads/online.php?Cat=Here's a forum that only shows the number of registered users, and has done so for a few years now. :)

/not trolling, i swear

An anonymous internet is a very good thing. Read this and quit complaining.

How do bots do that anyway? How do you get a program to find a page and go to it if there is no link to click to?

I don't believe the bots actually do it. I think it's a bug in the forum software. ubb.threads behaves the same way.

Don't you have to program the bot? Still, nonetheless, I hate it.

All registersed users are show up top, you have to scroll down to even view the anonymous ones. How the Hell is being at the bottom of the screen and out of the way being a bitch?

i never used one and did not know it existed, but its quite self explanatory a page is a file stored on a server, the bot opens that page and search for links and stuff it probaly scans the javascritps too, like its very easy to do, we at school learnt that a file like a web page is just text so it will probaly chek for all avalable links from it, or go on a server and brows it like you brows a HDD just that its not C:\yeah\game\game.exe
more like http://www.pinkshotgun.com/games/hames.exe (this would call a download put any file in that dirrectory or brows its content with some certain programs... well any wais my bladder in gona thear appart is i don't end this here, so fare well (i mean very well, like totaly, indeed!)
