Hi from Bombay

It's strange being home again - it's been ten months since I was here last, and I feel like nothing's changed but everything's new.
I have been meeting friends and eating Indian food all day, so I hate to complain - but I just miss my boyfriend so much. It sucks not to be with him, and not to be able to call when I miss him. I promised myself I wouldn't cry after I left, and I didn't. I think I'm about to break my promise. THREE whole months before i see him again
I don't know. That seems like an awfully long time.

It's not like a Ian and Rachel thing....they knew and were dating each other in real life before fairy even came here.

Hang in there lil' trooper. I'm sure it'll work out, unlike the 'net only' relationships that are so common these days, you guys actually have your IRL time together.

and now, a string of cliches:

Absence makes the heart grow fonder - King's Quest V /wwwthreads/images/icons/tongue.gif

It is better to have loved and lost Than never to have loved at all - Alfred Lord Tennyson

Love is an irresistible desire, To be irresistibly desired - Robert Frost

Love is like an hourglass with the heart filling up as the brain empties - Jules Renard

Never close your lips to those Whom you have opened your heart - Charles Dickens

Emily, I used to see you outside my father's store. And then we went out on some dates and you let me have sex with you - Steve Butabi, Night At The Roxbury

Why would you think that it's a joke?

Because guys like me say that kind of stuff all the time as a means of flirting. Apparently, Quasius isn't up on your love life like some of us.

Because I did not know. And you would be far from the first person to make a joke about dating someone on this board... I din't mean anything by it.

Wasn't that title actually "Abscence Make the Heart go Yonder?" Which was a play off of "abscence makes the heart grow fonder?" (A quote by that really famous guy.)

What can I say, it makes the heart grow sloppier too.

It's all good. I just thought it was well known among the regulars that we were dating. I wasn't offended or anything, just surprised.

Okay, that's two people who spelled it wrong.

I mean, I'm not into correcting this kind of thing usually, but if you're gonna correct someone...

It's spelled "absinthe"

ab·sinthe also ab·sinth

n.
  1. A perennial aromatic European herb (Artemisia absinthium), naturalized in eastern North America and having pinnatifid, silvery silky leaves and numerous nodding flower heads.
    Also called common wormwood.

  2. A green liqueur having a bitter anise or licorice flavor and a high alcohol content, prepared from absinthe and other herbs, and now prohibited in many countries because of its toxicity.

[Middle English, wormwood, from Old French, from Latin absinthium, from Greek apsinthion.]

It can be spelled both ways. I personally have never seen it spelled "absinth", but hey, I guess it's proper.

If I were Van Gogh, I'd be on absinthe too.
