Yes but when you talk about advanced PSP hacking and then go off and fail to open a file in an editor there is something wrong.

Yes, that's it. I'm upset that people don't recognize my ROM hacking genius. That's why I work on such high profile projects as Hello Kitty World and Hello Kitty's Flower Shop, because I'm in it for the glory. Not so much the sidewalk part, though, since I can't even remember the last time I walked down a sidewalk. We don't have many of those around here.

For me, ROM hacking isn't a hobby. In order for it to be a hobby, it would have to be something that I actually did. I haven't touched any of my projects in quite some time. I have at least three projects that are finished, complete with documentation, that will probably never be released because I'm afraid that if I release them, someone will accuse me of only doing it for the glory.

I've never wondered why people shy away from this place. I thought it was pretty obvious. The site has been dead for years and having spoken with the administrator, it's clear that nothing is ever going to be done to improve it. Why bother trying to build a thriving community when the site could easily be deleted at any moment?

And I don't think that expecting people to exert an average amount of intelligence is elitist. I don't expect people to have my level of genius. I don't believe people with average intelligence are lesser people than mean. I just think they're dumber people than me. But that's not a put down, it's a fact. Just because you're not as smart as someone with a proven genius intellect doesn't mean you're stupid. It means you're average. Unfortunately, people with average intellect seem to have difficult processing that just because they aren't smart doesn't mean they're dumb. There's a very wide field of play betwixt genius and ignorance.

Of course, everything that I've said above is irrelevant because you seem to have missed the entire point. The things I was bitching about had absolutely nothing to do with ROM hacking, as I already explained.

The kid came in here bragging about having hacked someone else. He stressed this fact at the very beginning of his original post and again at the end. He seemed to take it as a point of pride and acted as if he should be given respect because he hacked another person. Even if you overlook the fact that he couldn't figure out how to operate a simple level editor as evidence that he's not technologically apt enough to manage to hack anyone (along with the fact that he claims that this is the first time he's ever used a computer,) even if it were true it's an incredibly stupid thing to brag about in a public forum. I wasn't ripping on him for not knowing how to ROM hack, I was ripping on him for displaying an overtly ignorant attitude in general.

You also seem to be under the misimpression that because I'm yelling and cursing at someone that I'm taking it seriously. I can type 35wpm with my off hand. I can fire off a pissed off missive without having to take my right hand off of my cock and if I break a sweat it's only because I'm watching some really good porn. I'm not the Angry German Kid swearing at the screen and slamming my keyboard around. Unlike him, I have a lush goatee. But it's always entertaining to see someone who finds a situation so unworthy of being taken seriously that they take the time to comment about how people are taking it too seriously.

Yes, I *know* it's spelled you're but your is much more aesthetically pleasing when rendered in all caps. Not to mention the added irony in this particular instances. I sure wish this board supported superscript for footnoting purposes.

You didn't read my first thread, which then I foolishly made this one, my psp is dieing, I don't want to buy a new one and try to do all the hacks DarkAlex did for me. So now this is where I will focus for awhile...

I agree with the drunken hacker, unfortunetly this site is pretty dead, but it left a few people behind, who cares if there is no community, shit if there was dammit we would be like average people. I'm not as good at hacking roms as you all are, but hey I'm 10 years younger than Reaper man (17) he is I believe 27. I'm starting my 'training' now wether it is self taught or cooporatively executed.

Further more I figured out that I was using the Eupean version (E) all I needed was the (JU) version , works great now, but still not saving, I should find a way to make it not read only if that is what is causing it.

Which is exactly what I told you the problem was from the very beginning.

If the ROM is read only, you should be able to right click on it, click on properties and then find the Read Only checkbox under the Attributes list. (This is in XP, Windows 7 may be slightly different but the basic idea should be the same.)

And Reaper man sucks at hacking ROMs too. He's only here for the tits.
 
I have seen quite a few complicated advanced posts from Reaper man, but not too many for roms, but he has helped me a lot.

Hey Im working onmulitiple euit designs, a few are redesigns (Supe Meroid)
