Planet Terror was far more consistent than Death Proof, whose last third was the best part of the package.
The other two thirds ... sucked to a ridiculous degree.
Tarantino can take his vapid "dialog" and jam it up his ass; once the novelty of hearing "fuck" every other word wears off (which occurs in about two sentences), you're left with about an hour of clueless, unsympathetic talking heads. Death Proof should have focused on what it did best: cars and Kurt Russell.

your comment was the first i heard of this. checked the trailer. definitely pumped. i love novelty movies (like new movies that seem like they were made in another decade) and these seem to fit the bill.

do yourself a favor and walk out after the Robert Rodriguez movie. it alone was worth the price of admission.
I thought the tarantino movie sucked donkey balls. unless you like listening to a bunch of bitches blather on about stupid shit endlessly. only to prove how badass they are in the end in a totally over the top girl power kinda way.
if you like girl power, that's fine too. i think there's better examples of it than in this film. and without the excess in dialogue.

even still, planet terror was a visual feast. seedy and rotten, but with much more art than rob zombie ever thought possible.

oh man glad to see someone validate some of my thoughts on that. i know Tarantino is one for quirky and out of place dialogue, but compared to, say, Pulp Fiction? forget about it. this movie's dialogue could have been co-written by britney spears and 50 cent.

those aspects were like the besides the point to the movie, it seemed. i'll stick with Bullitt for the car chase and Tombstone for the Kurt.
