I remember the time when I got off the plane coming home from my year in Japan. My mom picked me up, and on the way home we stopped in at Wal-mart. Talk about reverse culture shock. After about 5 minutes I was ready to get back on the plane and never look back again.

my friends and i that have all been to Japan have similar experiences to that. coming back is depressing due to the reverse culture shock.
when are you going back?

With any luck, I'll be going this December when I graduate. With any more luck, I'll be moving there this time.
Of course, I could be going this summer if it weren't for a couple of stingy, arrogant professors. Being done with school for life will be a beautiful thing.
Any plans to go for another revisit yourself?

yes, but none in the near future. i come with baggage now. but the woman is totally down for leaving the country.
i have one good friend there now with a pretty good position at sony in R&d. another friend is leaving soon as well. so i'm hoping they will establish and help a brother out if the opportunity comes up.

I have been unemployed ever since I have been 18 years old and the United States government has been illegally surveillancing me and my family in my own home with George W. Bush's knowledge. I am sick and tired of the United States government griefing me and violating my civil liberties.

Ah, btw, racism is unliked and not tolerated here. Everyone is welcome but insulting someone because of their genetic heritage is immature and basically stupid. Besides that that law your referring to has been removed/updated since the way it was written was deceptive and the people voting for it thought it was for equality so people would be judged by their work or their intelligence and not be rewarded for their skin color.
You will find most people here regardless if they are white, black, red, yellow skinned or any other you can imagine are truely intelligent and nice people. Hell most of the white kids around where I live are stupidier and act more black that the friends here I have but it is a moot point since I respect people for their words and actions and not superficial things like skin color, looks, age, dress, or how much money they have.
You cannot categorize a race because of the actions of a few and if you do then you must not know a lot of people of other races since I have found that they can be much more of a friend then most of the white people I have met in my life who usually steal, backstab, cheat, lie and anything else you can think of. It's the character of the person and not the shell they live in that is important and when you learn that you will see an entire new world waiting for you.
PS, there are a lot of racist that are black also but if you are racist then even though you are white you are more like them than you are like me or most white people today. Think about it. <img src=smilies/cwm11.gif>
