Friggin VMWare Player

Installation failed on XP after it installed some drivers which crippled my system, I can't get rid of them, and for some reason a repair install of XP hangs at "Installing Network".

Now I have to format and reinstall.
Oh joy.

And the VMWare forums were no help.

If I'm remembering right the vmware player is a way to see what it's like to use the full vmware program. I guess you found out exactly what it's like.

I usually what a few months on power toys like this since there is usually no end to the bugs at the beginning. Sorry about XP, have you tried the SFC "system file checker" yet?

Just type sfc at the command prompt in xp and choose an option. I recommend the run once option myself and have your xp install disk ready because it will be asked for. Good luck. <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif>

I was lucky enough it worked. I had a previous version of workstation that got uninstalled first. BTW you dont have to reformat, just install over what you got and windows will fix itself. And the reason why I got the player and relinquished the full blown workstation version: Mac OS X Intel Running virtually in a window!!!
