Can't hack Metroid? That's no problem when you have a utility such as Editroid. It is a full featured editor for Metroid on the NES that has the following features:
- Map editing: move screens around and reshape levels
- Screen editing: modify/add/remove objects, enemies, and doors within screens
- Structure editing: modify the objects that screens are composed of
- Item editing: move items around (automatically corrects password data)
- Password data editor: allows moved items and doors to work properly with the password system
- Level editing features: elevators can be moved, level starting positions can be moved, and palettes can be changed
- Title screen text can be changed
- IPS patch support: create and apply IPS patches
- Mapping: create a map for a portion of the game, a level, or the whole game in various scales and various image formats
- Backup feature: easy creation of time-stamped backups in case the ROM becomes corrupted or buggy
