Ebay Problems once again

A couple of weeks ago i was the winner of this auction for a ECW videocasette,

so after a looooong wait i finaly got the tape in the mail today..

and guess what.. its a cheap copy of the original tape!!!<img src=smilies/angryfire.gif>

If i wanted to copy the damn thing i would have done it myself!!!
i cant believe this, and this guy has a good reputation, no bad comments at all!!

well i emailed him something wich kinda sounded like i was gonna rip his head off if he doesnt refund my money.

now i wait for his reply.


ps, i have his first and last name and i know in which city he lives,
and if he fucks with me i might just take a little trip to see him/wwwthreads/images/icons/mad.gif

Well he emailed me back telling me how i could have known that it was a copy because of the lower price
(so? i once bought a complete nes system for 50cents)
and some other lame crap, but ultimatly addmiting that he should have told me that it was a copy.

anyhoo if i send the tape back i'll get my money back
(and he better add the money it took me to return the damn package!! i'm not gonna pay for that)

I fucking hate people like that, they are in the same league as Rom cd sellers.

Actually, regardless you have a case against him. He cant sell you a copy of that broadcast. There are somthing call copyright laws out there. He cant sell it, unless he has express written consent (or somthng like that) from the ECW or the real tape.

Yeah i know, and thats what i told him.. (well it was actually more like screaming)
now i just hope that this asshole refunds me the complete amount of money (that is including the money it took me to send the damn thing back..)

i'm not gonna pay for that.

I wonder if he is going to do it though. When you get your money back though, you should send a complaint in about him.

Selling a copied video tape like that is the same, in principle, as selling roms. you're violating copyright and trademark laws.

Yeah, I was thinking about that, too. Regardless of what happens, you should still notify eBay that the seller is selling copies of copywritten material. But eBay being eBay, I doubt they'll give a shit. If you really want to get back at him, you can submit his name and address to some piracy database. I did that as a joke to a friend stating that he was selling pirate copies of Microsoft programs, two weeks later he received a letter from Microsoft.

I did that once <img src=smilies/magbiggrin.gif> I was tired of waiting for an item on Ebay so I went to the seller's house (which was within walking distance of my house - most sellers on Ebay UK live in Manchester) and he was like "WTF are you doing outside my house?!?!" He explained to me that he was a lazy person and my item was in the post (actually he tried to come up with an excuse, but I'm not a serious enough person to care about anything so he just laughed at me and told me to go home)

I still think it was cool the spontanuity of me just appearing at the home of someone online (it's interesting meeting people online and forming an image of who they are and what kind of life they live and it's probably quite different to what it's really like) I think he just found it confusing....

Just Kidding.... I've been away from ZD a while .. the fact that Slein has an expensive computer full of roms is one of the things I remember :)

Out of anyone on the internet I would meet, it would probably be this wierd guy that talks to me on Kazaa Lite who stalks TV newsreaders... just to see who he really is, and what's really going on in his head.
