I have some avis and mpgs I got off the net of videos, live performances and stuff from my favorite bands and want to put them all on a DVD, I looked at http://www.doom9.org but really didnt see much to help me out

What is good for putting AVIs and MPGs on a DVD and have a menu? Nero didnt really have anything built in for it Anyone know of a good program to do this?

I like http://www.tucows.com/preview/341131.htmldvd-lab. it seems fairly user friendly as far as converting things so they play in conventional dvd players plus it has customizable chapters and menus.

NeroVision Express has been fine for my needs. I've only done 1 DVD so far in it, although I've got a ton of VCDs & SVCDs around here that I made with it.

DVD-Lab Pro is fantastic, i just started using it... Do you know if there is a way to change a PAL movie to a NTSC? I have several episodes (nearly all of them, really) of DangerMouse. I did a tutorial and used one of the eps as my test Burn, and it worked fantastic, but my DVD player didn't like it...

Though my Xbox (non modded) did. I dont know what happened there.

Project->Project Properties. It should give you a menu to choose this at the beginning of the project but that doesn't have as many options though. Are you sure it's an pal/ntsc problem?

What was the resolution of the video? Most dvd players only accept 16:9 and 4:3, but some can accept 1:1.
Did you convert the audio properly? It most likely needs to to be at 48khz and .mpa format.

See, that's where I'm not sure. The thing is, the video I am converting to DVD is a regular mpg file. It must have been recorded off of a PAL television, because when DVD-Lab did it's work with the file ( I touched none of the options, i let it do its own thing) i noticed it said "PAL" in the "system" section. When it was going to burn the file to DVD, it said something about the PAL thing once again. I've attatched a pic to show you where it says "PAL".

The funny thing is, my DVD player said it couldnt play because of "Regional limiations", or it might have said "area limitations".

Anyway, I figured my All-Region DVD player was being a bitch today, so I figured I'd see what my stock Xbox would do. A region 2 DVD would normally not play on it, and it worked perfectly. I suppose it's not that big of a deal to play it on my Xbox, but still. I'd like to figure out what the problem was.
