I do know that programs like DVD Decrypter (and uh, I probably can't give you a link, because well...*cough*) can detect mastering errors, but that would require you to copy the DVD video off of the disc before burning it to a DVD though.

This is the correct answer.

You can't do a 1->1 copy of a DVD with bad sectors, so, the only way to do it is with a program such as this. And guess what, DVD Decryptor rips AND burns your DVDs.

I updated my firmware on my DVD/RW and even tried another DVD drive, samething

I am now attempting to use ISOBUSTER, and hope that works

damn thing plays in my DVD player though, except it does go wacko at one part for like 30secs or so

isobuster failed

someone mentioned to clean the disk with toothpaste, i took the chance, same thing

I'm looking for another program that might do the trick

(not that anyone cares)

Have you tried Flask?

Since all of the software you've tried has failed, the only thing that I can suggest is to try doing an external line recording. If you have video capture capabilities on your PC, pipe the output of your DVD player (the one that it works in) through an s-video cable into your PC and record it the old fashioned way. As long as you capture at a high enough framerate and high enough resolution, you'll probably not notice much, if any quality loss.

Is there a way to grab/record it from Windows Media Player or PowerDVD playing it then recording it to whatever format?

Not that I know of. Have you tried just copying the VOB files off of the disc manually? Also, if you haven't, try Flask (mentioned it in my other post).

Copying off the DVD wont work, Flask gives me some error then dies over, I tried all 3 versions of flask, last stable, beta and the 5.x version

I even bought whats called a DVDdoctor on ebay, but the damn thing was broken, so the person on ebay ripped me off the device to fix it, so I may have to goto the store and see if I can buy one, as i dont trust ebay much now damn wholesale ebay bastards

DVD-x rescue failed
Replicator failed
Shit I might just record it to VHS
Anyone know if Winamp has a plugin to record the video straight to AVI or something, it plays just goes wacko during 30sec bump then it plays again
I still plan to try DVD-rescue software and another dvddoctor/gamedoctor device

Yes its futile but I will get the damn thing copied
