This board needs
Code: 
 tags, among other things. This way, posts with code that could be mistaken for HTML [url="http://www.zophar.net/wwwthreads/showflat.php?Cat=&Board=techtalk&Number=262210&page=0&view=collapsed&sb=5&o=0&part="]like this one[/url] don't pop up, and everyone is confused to all hell.

Then again, the whole board needs an upgrade cause it's not the year 2000 anymore. $10 says I get a response saying "do it yourself!" I can assure you, if I knew how, it'd already been done... I suppose I can't count on this to happen, can I?

FUDforum was already discussed by Swamp and I as a possible upgrade. It has threaded mode and all the Stuff Everyone Loves (TM). The general conclusion was that most people liked the board the way it was and didn't want to upgrade though.

I put a poll up to upgrade and people said no.

I've asked for help in fixing the code and no one has done it.

You don't need it.

Use the <pre> tag.

pre does nothing -- I tried to do it in a reply to above mentioned thread. The reason you didn't have problems with the above post is because there's a space following the < . Example:

<pre><test></pre>

See? nothing. If you view source you'll see it though.

Dude, suggesting to use the pre tags to let HTML tags show up properly is about on par with saying you can use a spoon to eat a steak because it's an eating utensil just like a knife and fork. Of course.

i'm surprised no one caught my own error ;) i said unicode-compatible font, but that's not true, actually it's just a mono-space font. most mono-space fonts that look halfway decent are just also unicode, but unicode fonts do not half to be mono-space.

anyways, yeah, i also knew that moogle was joking, but i couldn't help myself from saying something like this and seeing if someone would catch it.
