dunce

i downloaded it so i could watch chrono trigger endings, but the ending files just opens the game. I don't know if i have to convert the files to a certain type. they are .zrt files when i downloaded them. they also came with a .srm file which i don't know anything about. But what do i have to do to play these files on Zsnes?

Save files MUST share the same filename as the rom. Otherwise they won't work. Check that out, and tell us what happens.

Are they supposed to be .ZRTs?

No no... don't change the extensions.

Make sure the name (without the extension) is the same.

ie: if your ROM is "Chrono Trigger.smc", your movie file should be named "Chrono Trigger.zrt"

Make sure both files are in the same folder.

In ZSNES -- open the ROM like you would if you were just going to play it -- but instead of playing it, go to Misc | Movie and play the movie.

I believe I said in my first post:

>> Make sure both files are in the same folder.

By default, ZSNES looks for the movie in the same folder as the ROM. You can change this by going to Config | Paths and specifying a movie path.

> and it is running very slow

The movie won't run any slower than the actual game. If you can play CT in ZSNES without slowdown, no CT movie will have slowdown.

If your computer is too slow for ZSNES -- there's nothing you can really do about it.

EDIT -

wait a minute... is this movies? or is this savestates? For some reason I thought you were talking about movies... but reading this again it looks like you're talking about savestates.

gah

okay .. revised instructions:

1) keep filenames the same except for extensions. "Chrono Trigger.smc" would use "Chrono Trigger.zst"
2) put both smc and zst files in the same folder
3) load the ROM (.smc file) in zsnes just as if you were going to play the game
4) Press F4 to load the state

did you change the extension to .zrt when it should be .zst?

And we ARE talking about savestates, right? Not movies or anything?

lastly: link me to the savestate you downloaded so I can try it out.
