Cat died

*copy & paste*

On of my cats died today, she seemed sick yesterday morning, she was hiding and making wheezing noises, but we didn't think too much about it (No vets are open on Sunday anyway... what if there is an emergency?) until around 10 PM when she started choking and we noticed she had a big lump in her throat. I tried to get whatever was in there out with a technique I saw online but it was stuck, so I ended up just comforting her the rest of the night, and giving her some water.

About 5 AM I fell asleep, and when I woke up (10) she was hiding under a dresser, she sounded really bad so we decided to call a cab and take her to the vet. She came out on her own to use the litterpan, so I put her on the chair and before I could even get the cat carrier out she had died... I just got done burrying her, my other two cats don't have a clue what's going on (They keep looking for her). I still don't know what caused it though, I think it was probably a bone, but I wasn't about to try pulling it out after she had died, what's the point?

Yeah, last year my bird had seemed in fine health, and then, out of the blue, she died.

I'm sorry for your loss, DKK. /wwwthreads/images/icons/frown.gif

Poor thing. I'm sorry about your kitty DK. Unfortunately I had a similar experience with my little Keely a couple of years ago.

Keely was a hilarious cat. She was sweet, a lap cat, a fun 'swipe at you when you walk by to play but never used her claws' cat and a good friend. She is one of the only two cats I have ever known that would actually play fetch. <img src=smilies/laff.gif>

Literally, you'd throw her toy (ball, fuzzy bug, jingly bell, etc) across the room and she'd bolt after it, pick it up and (with it in her mouth) meow at you to make sure you saw she got it - then to add to her coolness, she would drop the toy right back in your hand. Such an awesome little kitty. I miss her.

She started pooping *everywhere* and we couldn't figure it out. She stopped eating and we noticed that a string was coming out of her little butt. She must have gotten into my wife's sewing kit and swallowed some line or something because it wasn't just thread, it was almost as thick as kite string. Very odd. Anyway we couldn't just pull the string out - there was no way of telling how much she ate so it could really hurt her inside.

She just kept getting worse and worse. She stopped bathing and began to smell really bad that her sister Nala wouldn't play with her anymore, and she had so little energy that she couldn't even jump up on our laps. Poor baby. One day we came home and found her on the 3rd step of our stairs. She just didn't have the energy to make it to the cat-box or her food upstairs.

We tried nursing her with some pedia-lite and soft catfood, but sometime that night on December 31, she died. I miss my litte Keely.

Sounds like my other (creatively named) cat, Kitty, she used to play fetch with those plastic rings from milk and soda bottles.

Heh my bird, Tweety, taught herself to play basketbal. She loved to throw her ball (a plastic ball about the size of a golf ball, with holes in its sides and a bell inside) into her water cup. If that doesn't sound that impressive, remember that she was throwing using her beak-- using it she would grab the ball by it's holes, and quickly flick her head upwards or sideways and let go, tossing the ball a decent distance. Then she'd take it out of the cup and go for another shot, and so on. Her aim actually got pretty good. I had an idea of making a miniature basketball court for her, and sending in a tape of her playing in it to America's Funniest Home Videos, but never got around to it.

Of course, the water in her cup would always splash out and make a mess, but that was probably part of the fun of it for her, as evidenced by the fact that she rarely threw the ball into her seed cup.

Oh my GAWD my cat Neo is in love with those things. The wife and I actually try to buy the 'kids' a kitty toy when we're at Wal-Mart or whatever, and while Neo likes most of his toys - the rings from milk jugs, and bottle caps are his absolute favorite toy.

He's such an idiot, lol.

I cant wait to get home now.

I know how you feel, man.
My cat died on the first day of this month(nov 1st.) We found her on the side of the road, and It really sucked.

Oh my god, our cat Wezel (sounds like Weasel...don't ask :p) used to love those things. Just toss one on the floor and she'd be like a little kitten again...dashing after it and just acting crazy. lol

Gosh I miss her. :) It's weird, once in awhile I still turn around thinking she's behind me or something. She used to do that to me, follow me around all over the place. Such a sweet cat. And they say Siamese are mean.

>And they say Siamese are mean.

Yeah I've heard that too, but I don't believe it. Every Saimese cat I've ever known/had has been super sweet. One thing is true though - Siamese are extremely loyal. We used to have a Siamese named Koko. (named after KaoKo Kung from "The Cat Who:" books - his nickname in the books was Koko). He would follow us off of a cliff if we went there.

I'm home now and I got to see my Neo and Nala. So happy.<img src=smilies/thumb.gif>
