Can I enter a...

I was wondering if I can enter a Gameshark code permanently into a n64 rom's memory. I need to know because I want to record an avi of a hacked rom with a gameshark code, and Mupen64 has avi support, but no gameshark. So if the rom memory has already been altered... you know. I tried looking through a hex editor, but I messed up the rom and had to get another. So if there is a way, tell me how please.

Jesus.
Why do that if you're going into the rom anyway? Hack it in, slackass.
Kids nowadays.

Gameshark doesn't modify what is read from ROM as earlier cartridge cheat systems did, it writes a value to RAM. Depending on what kind of value this is it may or may not be loaded directly from ROM, most likely most of the values you'd want to change are not. Even if the value was directly in ROM (say, you'd modify some code) and you could make the modification, you would then need to recalculate the ROM checksum with something like chksum64 which can be found about the net.
