Buy my rom hack for $100!!!!

This was WAY too funny. I'm not the one selling this either. Yes, it's true, I had my rom hack placed into an actual playable cart by someone, but for $25. If someone gets this and doesn't figure out that NES prototypes were not made in 2004, then that'll be hilarious.

I do have it. There's a guy who will make physical carts for you for $25 for rom hacks and other unreleased games. http://www.nesreproductions.comLink to site.

Basically the price is to cover parts and shipping. The label is the one I designed for it. I had one made up for me just for the fun of having it in cart form. The guy selling it is someone who bought a copy and is now trying to re-sell it.

Get his auction canned. Report it to eBay.

It's not funny, it's some douche capitalizing on your hard work.

Holy fuck, he's selling a Zelda Outlands cart too. Click the "Report this Auction" button at the bottom of the page, and report it as many times as you can for various copyright infringing things. Hell, report all of his "homemade NES cart" auctions.

The nerve of some people.

I'm a little confused on this one, did they change the auction description? They have this message attached:

"This game is an unofficial sequel to Lolo 3, but was made by fans. It is not a prototype. It is designed to present gamers with incredibly difficult levels. "

That's all true, isn't it?

Does anyone know how the copyright laws work for ebay auctions? I don't feel like trudging through their documentation, but I was under the impression that royalties were owed whenever someone's (e.g. Nintendo's) intellectual property was being sold for profit. That would include even the sale of a legitimate NES game.

It was made by a fan (that's me). I modified the 50 levels in the game, change the sprites to Lolo 2/3 ones and made the floor be blue and the rocks grey. No other mods.

I don't really know about the copyright/royalties as I've never heard anything of that. People sell used NES and other console games by the thousands and usually at fair prices. Some try to deliberately rip you off, but I don't shop with those.

I'm adding DO NOT FUCKING SELL THIS DAMN YOU intros to my translations because of idiot resellers. I don't mind people putting them on carts anymore (heck, it's a hobby and they're not making much money at all.) I do mind people profiting off the translations.

Do you run that site? I've been there a few times.

Well, the ebay auction was removed by ebay themselves. (did anyone here have a hand in it?)

Though as far as I can tell, this was the only one removed so far. Zelda Outlands and Earthbound are still up and apparently someone has bought a Zelda Outlands for $105 more than what it would ordinarily cost.

I spoke to the guy who runs the site that makes these and he's trying to stop it too.

No, I have nothing to do with him. I used to hate him then I realized he's providing a service and he's got nothing to do with the assholes that sell the games on eBay.

I tried contacting him a while ago regarding the possibility of creating labels for some games, but he never replied.

Yeah. I've been trying to find someone who'll do Final Fantasy 5 in English for SNES. That'd rock.
