Sad news and sad loss for the emulation community. Near whom most of us here knew as byuu has sadly passed away. Byuu was best known as the creator of the emulators higan and bsnes.

The world lost a great. A creator who was intensely passionate about creating things that benefited countless others.

May the murderers responsible rot in whatever hell there may be, in this life or another.

By the way, as a note of respect to Byuu/Near, I suggest emending the news report to use "they", as Kotaku did.
