Default bit torrent problem

So im on the g/f's computer, and theres a problem with utorrent. Anytime she tries to download anything on it it says that "A connection could not be established because the target machine actively refused it". All the solutiojns I found in 5 minutes of googling wouldn't fix it, so im turning to you guys.

Hmm... have you tried some other client besides utorrent? Using something else might help...

I have see alot of trackers that do that now. Most want you to register to download. But DHT sometimes gets around that.

This is happening with sites I am registered with though. And only on the g/fs computer, they all work fine on mine.

I thought that too, but she uses my account and the share ratio is fine. Plus it happens with torrentspy too which isn't private.

Open up utorrent and hit the Options->SpeedGuide menu option

Then select this option:

Let me know If the website that pops up says:

Welcome to the µTorrent Port Checker.
A test will be performed on your computer to check if the specified port is opened.

Checking port 6881 on 70.40.0.119...

OK! Port 6881 is open and accepting connections.

You will be able to receive incoming BitTorrent connections.

Her ISP could be blocking the port. I dont use bit torrent so I would not know this but can you change the port to a high port like 15000. In order for me to get emule to work I needed change the TCP and UDP ports to high numbered ports. My ISP blocked the default ports.
