Yeah, well, let me know how that works out for you.
During the past 40 plus years, since Sunday School, for that matter, I had an advantage. I was not only brought up in the Protestant religion (that's not the advantage, but it helped), but my mother did not force any beliefs on me. She said "Look, do the Sunday School thing. Then make up your own mind."
I did.
Knowing
every religion is based on some sort of 'mythology', I decided that I'd know what to believe in when I ran into it. Still looking, kinda.
At any rate I know what not to believe in - what these jackasses we've elected and are paying to pass laws and protect us believe in. Cause they're not following the one rule that runs true in every religion I've ever heard of.
Do unto others as you'd have them do unto you.
In other words treat other people the way you want to be treated.
So, taking that into consideration...who is actually following that one rule?
Not a whole bunch of us.
Very few of those in public office...even less in big business...apparently quite a few ministers, preachers and priests have problems following that rule.
I'm really disappointed. I was hoping, having seen the public was mature enough to elect an African American as a president, but not mature enough to use 'racist innuendo' in some of their protest signs recently.
After Obama was elected, someone remarked to me "We've come a long way."
Bullshit.
I'm believing only a few of us have...and we weren't the ones who needed to.
The rest of them need to keep going to church.
Maybe they'll figure it out.
