Super Retro 64-Coming Soon!
Hello. I am new here, but I already have a hack coming out!
It's called Super Retro 64. Nothing big, just Mario 64 with graphics from NES Mario games. It's going good, so far. The only course that is fully edited is Hazy Maze Cave, besides the spiders and maps on the wall, etc. Just the grounds, walls, and ceilings. For this, I used rocks from SMB2 and recolored them to look blue. I have even changed music positions, like for Wet Dry World, instead of the Hazy Maze Cave theme, it uses the Dire Dire Docks theme. In the volcano, instead of the outside lava land theme, I used the cave theme. It's been fun, so far, but I can't wait until it's done. Oh, and Mario looks like the one from SMB3. I would have used SMB1 Mario, but instead of red hat and shirt, it's red hat and overalls; Toad's Tool 64 can't do anything about that. If you'd like, I could attach the ROM in its current position, and you could try it yourself. It's not done yet, but I hope you like it.
One last thing. If there is a file that has already been played in, don't delete it, because you won't see the other courses (I already have all 15 of them unlocked, as well as all cap blocks opened!!!!!)

Moved to ROM hack. Also, don't attach the ROM. That's against forums rules. You could make a patch and attach that if you want though.

You could use something like PPF Studio. I'm not sure what the best patch format for N64 games would be.

erm, wait. IPS patching doesn't work for N64 games? I figured it was a general patching algorithm that compared the original bytes with the modified bytes and patched them. Mind you, I'm no programmer, so I may be wrong.

I know that IPS has a limit of 4MB. Not sure that's the limit of the original file size or the patch, but for any decent sized Mario hack, that could easily be exceeded on either count.
However, UPS should work fine for N64 hacks.

Ah, right. I've seen that used a few times. I'll have to remember that for my own future reference.

I may not get a chance to play this for a long time, but if you don't mind, I'd enjoy seeing some screenshots.

Unfortunately, this got cancelled (and my Waluigi game has been abandoned due to the fact that I cannot change backgrounds yet). Plus, I tried to upload screenshots, but it wouldn't work for some stupid reason.
