Oh. No wonder I've suddenly been getting several emails per day about this.

Guys, it's great you love SD3. Even if you hate SD3. Yes, it's great if you hate SD3, or if you love SD3, or really all points inbetween. Everything's great. But you have to understand I've kind of moved on now. Moved on, moved up. Sold out to the man. So maintaining and/or supporting SD3 isn't really job 1 for me now.

With that out of the way, I'd kind of appreciate, you know, not receiving 1MB+ unsolicited attachments daily about topics such as this. No good can come of that. Down this path madness only lies. Way of the Force, this is not.

In conclusion, it's probably a very bad idea for me to even be posting here, but bad ideas are the best ideas.

Default Here's my white flag.

Sorry for bothering ya, sir. And just so ya know (since everyone else seemed to assume it was what I was trying to do) I wasn't hoping to hoard in on your glory or specifically alter your patch, I wasn't telling everyone they had to change THEIR title screens, I wasn't saying "you MUST make a patch for me, NOW!" and I wasn't trying to piss off the emu-community by being an ingrate and blaspheming that SD3 shoulda been SoM2, I just asked if it was possible and if anyone knew how. But, after trying several tile editors and viewers and trying to make sense of the randomized puzzle of pixels I can see why nobody would wanna go through that again.

I'm sorry, I'll just shut up and be happy with how it is.
I give up. You guys win, commence gloating in 5,4,3,2...

I'm not get into this argument, I not even going to read the rest of comment on this statement, but as an artist I could give two rat shits about someone modding my art. Unless they're claiming full rights or trying to make money off it, I couldn't give a crap. I would care even less if the modder of my art was distributing the mod only in a ips that contained only the changes he made to my art, in which the end user of it would need my original in the first place.

I'm sick and tired of this elitist attitude of people about hacks of hacks. What makes it worse is its hypocritical, as *gasp* guess what they already did the same thing to the original creators work and didn't give the same consideration to them, and yes translating is no different.

There's a huge difference to out right art theft and modding a rom or even shopping joke text on a pic and passing it around 4chan. If modifying art is a crime then you better lock up all the professional pop artists out there, cause they've taken commercial art and enlarged and resold it as thousand dollar art with little credence the original artist.

I'm done that's all I have to say.

You strike a valid point. When you hack a ROM, you're hacking someone elses work.

He's hacking Neill's work. Neill hacked Squaresoft's work.

...Does anyone see the hypocrisy in this argument besides me and AkaneJones?

I don't care if people modify SD3 based on my patch for noncommercial purposes. It's only fair. The same goes for all the software I've done. I've seen people distributing copies of Highly Experimental with the strings translated into Chinese, and that's just boss.

My only problem here is the fact that this thread exists.

Akane, you just made the most understandable, most logical and most persuasive post in this entire long argument, up to this point. For the most part, it's even grammatically correct.

I'm scared.

Everyone just shut up, okay? You're all making a huge deal out of nothing. Maybe this Kitsune_Baka person did come off a little annoying, but this argument is just stupid.

Here's the patch:
