Unhappy Translate problem windows game.

Hi,
I want to translate a game from bad dutch to readable dutch.
I know how to translate it with a hex editor.
But when i translate the text, the program won't start anymore.
Can someone explane me what i'm doing wrong.
I will put some code below to tell you what i'm doing.

original code:

As far as i know is the number before the text the amount off letters used +1, correct me if i'm wrong.

When i now safe the file and start it, then i get a error from windows.

If someone can help me out with this, then i will be very happy

P.S.
I only have to translate words, nothing else.
There is space on the screen to use longer text.

I don't know for sure...if I had to guess I'd say that inserting that letter is perhaps moving something (I mean, you need to make space for it right?).

Please learn the basics of romhacking. There are enough tutorials out there.
By inserting letters into program code like you did, you really move adresses and that results in a crash!!
So if you don't want to learn romhacking in general you only can replace letters with your method. No delete no add...
But if you learn from the tutorials you soon learn the power of pointers and probably find a way to extend the original game code with your texts by using other target adresses.

When I was lazy as romhacker I looked for Japanese fonts if still left in the game. Then I edited the tiles to create combined letter pairs like this:

ll
rt
st
il
li
ch

So the trick was to replace a single standard letter adress by the new combined letter adress formerly used for the Japanese fonts.
