Default Gonna lose a family member

Last week I found out that my uncle (my grandma's brother) is dying. He's 82 and has a relapse in stomche cancer. When I was told, I was expecting it to happen sooner or later, and I simply asked how much time he has left. At best two weeks...

Fastforward to tonight, I wind up going over to my uncle's house to fix a TV problem for my aunt. I wanted to know if he was resting, and he was. After fixing the TV problem, I go see him........ I'm amazed he's stil alive. He can't keep any food down, and he can't weigh more than 90 pounds.

I left that room a broken man, I couldn't stand to see him like that. After a while, I thought I didn't have any emotion left. Guess I was wrong... I guess I won't know how truely sad I am until after he passes. That day is rapidly approaching.

He had a good run man. There's no stopping the inevitable, but when he's gone, and even now, you should appreciate whatever times you both had together.

I hope the best for him. <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

PS: Did you try baby food?

That sucks...it's not a happy thing to go through. Best I can say is good luck, and just try to help however you can because every little bit helps.

Not every holiday is cheerful, even once in a blue moon there will be a somber occasion.

No, he's been trying ice cream and jello for the last 3 days.

He died early this morning. He kept going when I didn't think he'd make it to the end of last week.

Fred Pogorelec, dead at 81. 1924-2006

*salutes* RIP, Fred.

Ditto. Wether or not an afterlife exsists he is in a better place vs Earth.

I lost my mom to cancer and I know that loss of any control and hopelessness. It'll pass eventually but spend as much time with him as you can since you and others close to him are the only things he has left for any happiness.
