Default How fast do you type?

I pulled 90 with one mistake, pretty tired though. I'll have to try it again when I'm more awake see how I fair.

Got 79 wpm with no mistakes (since I backspaced and fixed all of them). I'm also tired and not typing too well tonight. The test seems unusually easy. I did a test with some Mavis Beacon software about a week ago and got an adjusted wpm of 72 -- and that was when I was plenty awake and typing well.

About 45 WPM with 5 mistakes. I can't touch-type though.

I find it to be the most accurate form of testing though. So often I take these tests, and when I instinctual hit the "backspace" button it counts it as an error, and all subsequent letters as an error also. This kind of paragraph would be more likely for practical purposes... even though the method is clearly no more than simple division.

I didn't take the test but I do around 40 - 50 without mistakes if I don't have to use numbers. <img src=smilies/cwm11.gif>

I was tested for proficiency about 3 years ago. 120 net wpm, 118 gwpm.

Just took a different one (http://www.careerstep.com/site/page=typingtest) and got this:

109 Gross Words per minute
105 Net Words per minute
103 correct words
4 extra words
32 missing words

Score: 105

I can do it faster from home because the keyboard is lower...it's too high on my desk at work.

Scored 85 WPM on average after four trials, with a max of 90.

By the by, this made me realize typing is really engaging.

More PC games should use it as a gameplay mechanic, a la typing of the dead.

Haven't you all learned that speed is bad? The keys loved to stroked at a nice slow rhythm. Too fast and you'll get your letters all over the screen too soon, with no pleasure for the keyboard.
