Default Wow, a grade-a asshole here

[blitz] i guess no one has winkawaks 1.50 or the latest final burn alpha...since every game i see is mame 32k = \
[-Ç.§] mame 32k .64 > all
[blitz] anyone have winkawaks or fba and want to play some sfa3?
[-Ç.§] kawaks/fba are garbage
[blitz] in your opinion
* Hentaiprime joined the partyline!
[-Ç.§] no
* Hentaiprime left the partyline (It's Primetime!!! (LOL)).
[0n1m@ru] -.-
[-Ç.§] facts indicate that kawaks/fba are far worse
[blitz] umm, yes that was an opinion
* RSC Balla! joined the partyline!
[-Ç.§] an opinion that everybody but you shares
[-Ç.§] script kids can easily crash your game
[-Ç.§] anticrash mame32k .64 is a must
[-Ç.§] you're just a noob
[blitz] i didn't come in here for a debate, a simple yes or no answer would do
[blitz] no i'm not, i could care less if some idiot teenager crashes my game
[-Ç.§] but in six months or so you'll be using a good emulator and saying that it's good
[blitz] i could just start a new game
[blitz] it's not that hard
[-Ç.§] kawaks doesn't even have 4p support, lol
* \\GWN joined the partyline!
[-Ç.§] plus, kawaks has definable macros that can be used online
[-Ç.§] retarded
[blitz] so, i don't have a need to play 4 player games
[-Ç.§] anybody can just specify hard combos and press one button to execute them
[-Ç.§] one-button supers for any game
[-Ç.§] kawaks is just a terrible emulator for online play
[-Ç.§] and that's why no one uses it
[\\GWN] X-Men Vs. Street Fighter (Euro 960910)
* Big Mac Cheese Burger joined the partyline!
[blitz] i don't use macros, so i could also care less if someone used them against me
[blitz] i consider that a challenge
[blitz] what you have nothing else to say? no response to my retorts? i thought so

<hr></blockquote>

I'm blitz and it's obvious who I feel is the asshole here. So, chalk this up to one more 14 year old using anonymity as a weapon to trash and insult as he sees fit. Anyone else get this kind of response trying to netplay with thier CHOICE for an emulator? I'm not pleased...I get a 16ms ping (sometimes 12ms) from idgames.com from kaillera so I'm not leaving the channel for a slower ping.

If anyone wants to play some SFA3/SFZ3 with me and has FBA or the new WinKawaks please msg me whenever you are on. All I want to do is play...not bicker and argue about what emulator I or someone else prefers.

Winning an argument online is like winning at the special olympics - YOU'RE STILL A RETARD.

Default He has a semi-valid point, but only very slightly.

Admittedly, MAME stands at the top of the heap with respect to accuracy. If you have a computer less than 750MHz or so, yeah, you should use another emulator. However, even Kawaks and Final Burn are a bit on the old side, I'd go with Nebula if I had to choose anything else.

However, this one very small point that he would have been correct about was completely negated by the fact that he was reccomending MAME32k. Not only is MAME32k about twenty-five versions out-of-date now, but it is in flagrant violation of the MAME license in that it doesn't provide the full source code. Any use of it is frowned upon, not only because of this, but also because it supports recent Neo-Geo games which are still sold by the original manufacturers which, no matter how you slice it, is blatant piracy and not nostalgia or attempting to document hardware (the latter of which is MAME's goal). The MAME32k developers have proven to be immense cockheads in the sense that they even banned the current MAME maintainer for asking for the complete source changes.

To sum up: The guy was a dickhead, but he had a slim point in that MAME is arguably better than Kawaks or Final Burn. However, MAME32k is a piece of shit.

You know what'd be hot....if there was a website that had a huge collection of all the emulators and organized them by popularity, compatibility, etc.

Oh wait. <img src=smilies/erm.gif>

In ZD language that means "we're not really doing anything." I have yet to see anything from anybody.

It's starting to hold back other projects I have that could possibly be connected to ZD.

Yeah, because a website about emulation is really going to look good on the ol' resume.

What does this have to do with my resume?

ZD is a public site. It's a community site. It's YOUR site.

Why would it go on Swampgas's resume? From the sounds of it, he's not doing any work on it, it's the manager and staffers who are doing the work. That would make for a great resume really:

"Own a website where everyone else did the design, so it's pointless even mentioning it on this resume."

A bmecoli quality post there. <img src=smilies/upeyes.gif>
