Default Any progress made on GBA music dumping?

Long time ZD visiter, first time poster.

There are plenty of games I'd love to have the music from, but MP3s just don't cut it, especially when I can have 100 SPC sountracks playable in compressed formats taking up barely 15MB of space.

I haven't heard anything about it. Is it something being worked on currently? Can we expect a good player or Winamp plugin soon?

I don't think there's been much work on it. GBA music would have to be ripped, though, as there isn't a separate SPU like in the SNES. A dumpable Genesis music format, however.....

So basically, the best we can get is actual compressed recordings?

For now, yes. If someone with the skills actually looked into it, then it could probably be made.

GBA music is badly needed. At least we have USF, now.

There's a PSF subformat being delevoped called GSF for this very purpose. CaitSith2 and zoopd already have a bunch of games ripped and a functional Winamp plugin based on VBA, the name of which still strikes me as clever.

Before you check this link remember that it is all still in early development phase, I'm really not even sure I should give out this link...

Wow, brilliant. This seems to be working really well. Guess now I can add GSF files to my ever-growing playlist.

hahahahah... the name is excellent

Anyway, it seems to be damn good despite being in the early stages. Glad to see them focusing on a rip format instead of a silly log format.

Thanks for bringing this up and props to those guys

Damn, GBA music is quite nice, some gsf sets rivaling some psf sets.

*listens to Golden Sun and FF 1 & 2 some more*
