Yeah, the minute I figured out this "eating" and "working" thing were related...Goddamn...I knew how to eat all the time.

And some people wonder why they're fat and/or have high blood pressure and/or bad skin. The old adage "you are what you eat" applies. If you eat crap, you will look like crap.

Says the Mountain Dew drinker... Way more sugar in that Dew than in any donut, that's for sure.

I don't recommend people pick up Dew either -- but I'm already hooked. Besides I never claimed to be Mr. Health Nut. CEpeep said "people need to eat" -- all I was saying is "nobody needs to eat doughnuts" -- so his point was totally lame.

Not a chance. Well -- I guess it depends on how much Dew you're comparing to one doughnut. If you want to go by a Dew serving size (one quarter liter) -- I can guarantee you there is less sugar in that glass of Dew than there is in one plain doughnut. Add chocloate, glaze, and/or jelly/cream/whatever and FORGET ABOUT IT.

But if you're comparing a doughnut to an entire 2-liter bottle of soda -- then no shit. However that's hardly a fair comparison.

EDIT

Actually I just looked up the numbers -- and I must say I'm rather suprised. Krispy Kreme "original glazed" (closest thing I could find to a plain donut) has 10 grams of sugar (well -- one serving size does -- which I assume is one donut)-- vs. a quarter liter of MD which has 31 grams.

I'm still unsure about sizes though:

donut = 52 grames -- 10 grams of sugar
MD = 240 mL / 8 fl oz -- 31g sugar

Uh, I didn't say people need to eat donuts, I said people need to eat. I was replying to Flash's post, not yours. Such is the beauty of threaded message boards.

The topic of the thread is doughnuts. You said "People need to eat" in a thread about doughnuts. I put two and two together.

I just reread all the posts in the thread which you replied to, and it still sounds like you were saying people need to eat doughnuts. Sorry for misinterpretting but you weren't exactly clear that you were talking about food in general, especially considering everyone before you was talking about doughnuts.

I agree that this is a cool thing. This thread turned pretty negative pretty fast, though. When you can turn free donuts into a bad thing, you need to lighten up.

I resent your attempt to push your pastry-consumption ideology on the rest of us. It's starchiferous attitudes like that that are ruining our country, and will make us prisoners of a giant jelly-filled dystopia. I don't want to wake up one day and find that the ideals that this country was built upon have been frittered away, just so it can be run by cruel cruller rulers at the helm of a bossy Boston creme regime. I won't stand to have my children grow up in a land where all must pledge alliegance to snooty sprinkled overlords! I won't have it! Who's with me? Stand fast, my friends, and we shall win this day! Let the call go up, and resound from every hill and in every vale: Give me protein or give me death!

...Yes, I'm in a rather silly mood.
