You waiters should move to Canada. Here, minimum wage means exactly that. Here in BC, it's $8 an hour. Tips are on top of that.

Which might translate into pretending to be a liberal sometimes to make a good tip. Can you handle that Danoz? LOL

Do you still have to tip waiters in Canada though? If they get paid actual minimum wage, seems like they wouldn't need tips. Tips are a secret conspiracy created by our government to make waiters do their job better for about the same money.

Some countries include the tax and tip in the price of each meal, and so the service isn't as great.

Hm, this reminds me of a story.

Last night, my bf and I went to Applebees for dinner. The cook totally screwed up our order, bringing us completely different stuff than we requested. The waitress wasted no time in apologizing like crazy and telling us "the manager said he'd take care of it, because we messed up" ... I mean, we didn't even need to ask for them to foot the bill, and weren't expecting it, really. ...So of course the waitress got a big fat $13 tip for a non-existant bill that would've been $20 at most.

It makes me think that the waitress went to the manager and went out of her way to make our meals free so she'd get a huge tip. I dunno. The leftover philly cheesesteak wrap thing is gonna be damn good for lunch though.

I was a waitress once for about three weeks. Graveyard. At IHoP. Two words: drunk cowboys. Never again.

Yeah, don't let your Mom, (Friends whatever) talk you into working at the print shop they work at. Washing plates for 25 presses isn't fun, and neither is the smell of type-wash that lingers all about you all the time.

The service at the IHOPs near my home sucks. I don't go back anymore. Not implying that you sucked, of course. Maybe the wait staff just stop caring after awhile, because of the drunk cowboy types. lol
