Default Castlevania: Chorus of Mysteries

So I figured that I should post this over here and try to drum up some support in some other message boards.

Title Screen:
<img src=http://img301.imageshack.us/img301/1676/3323qq.png>

Level 1- Castle Entrance:
<img src=http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/3944/2425xl.png>
<img src=http://img123.imageshack.us/img123/9752/36zm5.png>

Level 2- Royal Chessboard:
<img src=http://img390.imageshack.us/img390/5982/2443ky.png>

Level 3- Castle Roof:
<img src=http://img381.imageshack.us/img381/4807/2280ki.png>
<img src=http://img212.imageshack.us/img212/8885/2316ce.png>

Level 4- The Pit/Courtyard:
<img src=http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/3741/2334aq.png>
<img src=http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/5140/2344ss.png>

Level 5- Olrox's Quarters:
<img src=http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2248/2472uf.png>

Level 6- Clock Tower:
<img src=http://img64.imageshack.us/img64/2628/2517fy.png>
(Some of the level screens are out of date)

NEW ENEMIES
------------------------
<img src=http://img178.imageshack.us/img178/7961/panther4vv.png>
Panthers- Much like the ones from Symphony of the Night. They run at you, and when you strike them with a weapon, they freeze momentarily. After the temporary freeze, they continue to run.

<img src=http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/543/thornweed9yy.png>
Thorn Weeds- They stay closed up untill you are within a certain distance from them. They then snap open and start shooting fire balls at you. They take two hits to kill.

<img src=http://img232.imageshack.us/img232/222/ghost6xf.png>
Ghosts- They float in one spot for a short period of time, and then chase after you, quickly starting and stopping.

<img src=http://img440.imageshack.us/img440/2829/skeleape5mh.png>
Skeleapes- They move back and forth, mostly away from you quickly, starting and stopping like the ghosts. They throw evil cross boomerangs.

NEW BOSSES
-----------------------
<img src=http://sj-gfx.com/pixels/eyeball.PNG>
Beholder (sprite by Setz)- The new Level 2 boss floats back and forth at the top of the screen quickly and sends smaller Beholders after you.

<img src=http://img403.imageshack.us/img403/5536/slorgait4.png>
Slorga- The new Level 3 boss runs quick and jumps high. It shoots fireballs, and throws bones, like the ones skeletons throw.

<img src=http://img255.imageshack.us/img255/3498/gaibon3he.png>
Gaibon- The new Level 4 boss is Slorga's companion usually. It flies around the screen, dodging attacks, and shooting a barrage of fireballs.

<img src=http://img406.imageshack.us/img406/8623/olrox7rt.png>
<img src=http://img118.imageshack.us/img118/9057/olrox26te.png>
Count Olrox- Olrox is the new boss of Level 5. He glides around the room like he did in SotN (he even has the shadow-trail effect). He shoots fireballs, and throws evil boomerangs. He then turns into his 2nd form.

We replaced the stopwatch with the laurels from CV2. When you use them you become invincible for a short period of time. Here they are in action:
<img src=http://img183.imageshack.us/img183/7361/344ds0.png>
A laurel, freshly busted out of a candle

<img src=http://img158.imageshack.us/img158/3311/345jd0.png>
Me using a laurel and standing inside of the merman on the right (normally that would hurt you)

Another thing that needs to be shown off is the new boss fight with Death:
<img src=http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e361/optomon5/79.png?t=1170563585>
He's significantly larger (He's twice as tall as the main character).

The hack also features a brand new sountrack, and updated sound effects. The sound effects sound more like ones from later Castlevania games for the NES. This hack is a joint effort between myself, and optomon. I've been focusing on all the gfx and level design, and he's been doing the coding.

Sadly this thread contains no links to a place where we can download this very slick looking hack either in present or future tense and that just makes this thread a bunch of pretty pictures and meaningless words to me : (.

Oh don't you worry your pretty little head. We're definitely not close enough for a release, but I totally forgot to link to the website (where you can get the npc and hear all the music) So thanks for reminding me.

Fantastic work. Are you going to change the actual layout of the levels? (as in change the size, stuff like that)

I'm definitely anticipating this hack! <img src=smilies/thumb.gif>

That's actually what we'll be working on this weekend. optomon got all the level data written down, so we're going to work on level layouts and start building them.

I got some work done with level 1's level design. I'm pretty happy with how the middle section came out.

A Castlevania hack that's original?

BLASPHEMY!!!

...

Just kidding. This looks really cool. I'm glad to see there's still some originality floating around out there. It makes me feel like the ROM hack programming library I'm working on may find use after all.
