I hope you're playing on a DS Lite, because it's twice as bad playing it on the original.

I actually felt the DS Lite was better than the old DS. Of course, now I have it in a case you can play it in...extra padding helps I think.

Yeah, the controls are ass. Try as it might, the DS is not a good platform for FPS games. SOCOM on the PSP is pretty good though. It can be a little tough with just one analog stick, but at least it doesn't give you hand cramps.

SOCOM isn't a FPS. It's a 3PS, and the fact that you can lock on deprives you of the one thing you need in FPS games: skill. Not to say it isn't fun though.

The controls cramp your hand, but it would be better than something like, say, the GBA, or anything without an analog stick. The PSP hasn't pulled off any good FPS's. There are good third person shooters, like Syphon Filter.
Now, a handheld with a Dual Analog setup, like a Wireless Handheld Xbox with Live; THAT I would buy.

what control style are you using? I use dual mode right myself, using stylus mode sucks ass imo. Also, dualmode works far better on an original ds than a ds lite due to the relocated start/select buttons on the lite.

Indeed, some games control schemes such as metroid prime hunters or starfox ds could've actually had somewhat decent controls had they not tried to force use of the touchscreen when it's unnessecary.

Reread my post, that's what I said. I couldn't stand playing any of my games on the original DS.

Haha, thanks. The problem's not with cramping - the controls are set up in such a way that the bottom-right corner of the DS digs into the muscle on the palm of my hand, which becomes nigh-on unbearable after a level or two.

Holding it any other way doesn't give me anything like as much control, which is a shame, because other than the excruciating agony, it's a fun game.
