Antivirus: AVG Free Edition
Anti-Spyware: Spybot: Search and Destroy, Lavasoft Adaware free version
Firewall: My router, since I can't find a software firewall that co-operates with me. It seems to do pretty well though. I suppose I should mention that I'm running DD-WRT v24 SP1 on my router, micro version since my router stinks.
Backup: ...an external harddrive with eventual backup to DVDs.
Video: Zoomplayer, the CCCP codec pack (based on mostly FFDSHOW), Real Alternative and Quicktime Alternative
Torrent: uTorrent
Music: Winamp 5.xx but with 2.xx skins. None of that giant Bentobox stuff for me.
Web Browser: Firefox 3
Messaging: Trillian
Maintenence: JV Powertools, CCcleaner, David Lin's Startup control panel applet, ProcessView
CD/DVD Burning: Nero, ImgBurn
Archiving: 7Zip
Images: Photoshop Elements 2, Irfanview
Security: HijackThis if I need it, I guess.
Office: OpenOffice.org, Wordpad :P
PDF Reader: Whatever the default one is, Adobe I assume. Don't really have much use for PDF readers usually.

Video: Totem
Torrent: Don't have one
Music: Audacious for playing, Audacity for editing
Web Browser: Firefox 3

This largely depends on the OS I'm running ATM, but it is formatted as Win\Lin\Mac

Anti-Virus: NOD32 \ No need \ No need
Anti-Spyware: None \ No need \ No need
Firewall: Windows Firewall \ iptables or derivative \ OS X Firewall + Little Snitch
Backup: None really. I just keep the data I want saved in 3 500GB HD's
Video: MPlayer Classic or VLC \ VLC or mplayer \ VLC or Quicktime
Torrent: uTorrent \ none \ none
Music: WMP \ none \ iTunes (I barely listen to music on the computer)
Web browser: Firefox 3 on all (Opera on Windows as well)
Messaging: Miranda IM \ Pidgin \ Adium X
System maintenance: hands :P
CD/DVD Burning: ImgBurn (sometimes Nero) \ K3b \ Toast + Disk Utility
Archiving: WinRAR \ tar + bzip2 \ Built-in zip archiver
Images: Paint .NET \ none (I can't get used to Gimp, sorry) \ PhotoShop CS3
Security: erm.. apart from the AV and the AS, what could go into here?
Office works: OpenOffice.org on the 3 OS's (some M$ viewers on XP)
PDF Reader: FoxIT \ xPDF \ MacOS X Internal (Preview)
E-mail: Web based G-mail
RSS reader: Don't really use one
Screen capturing: PrtSc (the key) + Paint .NET \ none \ Command + Alt + 3
File browser: Explorer \ Nautilus \ moCommander
Virtualization: VirtualPC + VMWare Server \ VMWare Server + Virtual Box \ Paralells.

Also, I think you should add (software wise) to the thread title. I clicked thinking about we were going to speak about hardware specs.

Edit: Sorry, I've forgotten users here aren't allowed to change thread topics. In most of the forums I frequent, that restriction is not in place. Alas, I've added it and took the liberty of creating a "hardware thread".
